Tell us about how you use canvas wraps or gicl©e watercolors in the comment section at end of this article, and you could win a free canvas. Canvas wraps are on the tip of everyone's tongue - even though this is not a new product. It's now a classic, a major money maker, but price competition is growing.

When outsourcing every studio wants great quality at a low price delivered quickly. Gicl©e canvas wraps and art prints are a specialty production service best handled by experts. The economic reality is that we've got to compete with Groupon, Costco and WalMart, at least to the extent that our clients see and value what they're paying us for. Your bottom line, like that of any business large or small, can evaporate with production costs.

Karl's brother passed on the recommendation to try the Gicl©e Factory. Their web-advertised prices for pro services are no more than inexpensive mass market retail, so we were well motivated to test them out, even though they're located in Quebec, Canada and I had some misgivings about shipping as well as quality.

So how was the color? Equal to the finest I have ordered elsewhere. I tried an abstract watercolor-style iPhone image (yes, off an original 3G iPhone) in 16x20 size first, and it was beautiful. Watch this video to see the fun and funky portrait that was my next order as a 24x36.

No worries about sending files. The web instructions are easy and accurate; the upload performs perfectly. Did I mention you can get absolutely any precise size you want? I later learned, upon interviewing the owner, Louis Charbonneau, that over the years he has done massive research with materials, inks, printers, coatings and stretchers to develop the perfect - and proprietary - formula for successful printing first time in close to 100% of images. He continually works to remove variables that impact output quality one time to the next. Longevity, uniformity, eco-friendly materials and avoidance of yellowing, fading and cracking are key.

"As you can see on this photo, all our production employees are equipped with iPads. With the ipad they have access to all the information pertaining to a given job via the server, where ever they are in our facility. what to do, when is it for and where it's at,  is all crystal clear on the ipads. This way we've eliminated a huge amount of paper and reduced error and lost information to a minimum."

"One of the reasons our prices are so low is that we buy all our materials in very large quantity. Canvas typically comes in at a few miles long by over five feet and coating comes in 55 gal drums a few at a time. Most competitors buy their canvas in a few hundred feet and coating in gallons."

No worries about shipping either. They have the system; you need do nothing about importing. You'll find in your shipping contents packet there is a NAFTA value statement and commercial value invoice appropriate to customs and FedEx delivery. Yes, there is a shipping charge, but your bottom line remains about 30-40% less than what most domestic pro labs are charging.

Gicl©e Factory is the new local.

How does he do it? In his wonderful French Quebec accent, Louis won't say exactly, but I credit his long record as a traditional photo lab owner, along with his passion for limited edition reproductions of all kinds of fine art. Gicl©e Factory has a large format scanner that will create a file from as large as a 5' x 10' painting or art work layout of any kind. The largest number of reproductions he's made? 10,000 from one art work! But you'll be satisfied with just one or two client-pleasing pieces that will grace any home or business.

I am researching Gicl

Thanks so much for this report and video!  I have heard good things about the Giclee Factory, but to be honest, the low prices worried me!  I was just going online to order my first test canvas from them, and saw the link to this report, which has greatly eased my mind.  Thanks again!

I have used Giclee Factory for over a year now and the prices combined with the excellent quality have kept me coming back. I have tried other lower priced companies and regretted it. I am a photographic artist showing my art at art shows and fairs and giclee’s are the best way to show off my art. The patrons love them. The colors just explode off the canvas. The gallery wraps are wonderful because there is no need for an expensive frame. This article is great, I have always wondered how they did it! And now I know!

I have been using Giclee Factory for just a few months. I love their product, their customer service is impeccable and their product is outstanding. I bought a canvas for my out-laws (also known as my in-laws) for this upcoming Christmas. It is 4 feet by 3 feet. It is an amazing piece of art. I would love love love to win one so I can finally get something printed for myself!

I have been using Giclee Factory for just over a year. I love their price point, product offerings and customer service. I have about 8 canvases hanging proudly in my living room, my goal is to ensure everyone of my clients orders and chooses canvas to hang in their home. I feel canvas is an excellent way to showcase photos and it fits into any decor! I would love to add to my “building” collection with a free 24 x 24 canvas!

I use ArtRage for my paintings.  Being digital, I come up against the “traditional” artists in my area.  Walmart prints don’t have the same power of “aaaaaaaaaaaah” that Canvas has so I used Google and found the Giclee-Factory.

I’m waiting for my first order to put in our local art show and I was thrilled to see the quality of the canvas in your video.  Thank you.

Today, I will be ordering two more of other paintings I did as I will be entering them in our Christmas Art Show.

I had to fight to get a digital art category and I’m sure my paintings on canvas will make them glad they “opened” their minds to the fact digital painting is real art.

I have used the Giclee Factory exclusively since I started printing to canvas.  Couldn’t be happier.  The quality is superb and their care packing for shipping continually amazes me.

Because they print pretty much any size, I was able to get them to print a 4” x 35” canvas which was a kind of hierarchy of my mother’s 7 great-granchildren.  The print fits perfectly on the narrow wall space between two doors in her apartment.

I am so excited to learn of your service.  After I completed one 24"x24 painting, several young family members started quibbling about who should get it…this should diffuse the family feud!  (How nice that they like my work, though….)

A lot of internet based business make it hard to contact them. Usually they don’t even publish a phone number and it takes days to answer an email. Not Giclee Factory. They answer emails right away and even answer the phone right away.
Their customer service is top notch.
I will continue to use them for all my fine printing. I’ve lowered my canvas prices because their prices are so reasonable. My sales have increased and I am making more profit because of it.

GICLEE FACTORY YOU ROCK!

Cheers
Chris

A Digital Artist, I have been using Giclee Factory for four years and love the quality of their work. Working art festivals, I’ve made canvas wraps my signature style. Visitors become fans of my bold use of color displayed on beautiful canvas wrap. This year, I’ve come up with an innovative approach. After having the art printed, I am experimenting with adding paper-mache built onto the canvas for drama. My booth display for 2012 is focused on ‘high fashion & shoes’. There’s nothing quite like seeing a hot pair of heels displayed on a 1.75” canvas wrap!

Just wanted to give a follow-up on my first post,.. being new to Giclee I came to this article to research it as a way of adding a little artistic flair to my photos. Sara chose my post as the winner of the Giclee print from the Giclee Factory and I was astonished at the quality! I had chosen an image that was not just one of my favorites, but one that I have had printed eight different times. Not a single print has ever satisfied me as a good representation of the image. The Giclee Factory hit a home-run with their process and excellent service. ...Even the proof they had sent prior to printing was better than some professional printing services. Thank You Sara! And thanks to the Giclee Factory. As I get ready for my art show this coming fall, I will be making plans to hang some prints from the Giclee Factory!
