NAB is nearly upon us and Marshall have released details of some great looking new LCD monitors that will sit nicely with those of you using DSLRs or other small video cameras.

CRU-Dataport Introduces the New ToughTech Duo

New Marshall 7” Monitor with HDMI Loop Through

Marshall Electronics has recently announced the worlds first 7-inch LCD monitor with HDMI loop through functionality allowing you to run multiple LCDs from a single HDMI output on your HDSLR.  Now you can have a monitor for the camera operator or director and another one for your focus puller without having to employ expensive powered HDMI splitters.  The monitor also features a huge range of other useful features like false color and peaking as well as DSLR ratio adjustment which will show a full screen , un-letterboxed view of what you are recording, no matter which DSLR you are using.

Samsung releases the NX11 Mirrorless Camera

Earlier in the year Samsung Imaging unveiled the NX10 , their shot at the interchangeable lens mirrorless compact camera market. Today they have shown the new NX11 just prior to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.  The NX11 featured a 14MP sensor that also shoots HD video and uses the companie’s APS-C sized sensor and NX format lenses.  Full press release and more photos after the break.

B&H Photo Offers New iPhone App

A new, dedicated iPhone app from B&H Photo in New York offers easy searching, browsing and purchasing almost any item the store sells, worldwide. Users can see high resolution images, download pdf user manuals (really handy if you’re away from home/office and forgot the manual), and order via the app.



The app can be downloaded for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch via the Apple App Store.

Leica introduces limited edition Titanium M9

At Photokina today in Germany, Leica has released a new version of the popular M9 full frame digital rangefinder camera.  The M9 has been almost impossible to get hold of since its launch due to it’s popularity and with this special edition only available in 500 units I think this will be even harder to find!  Featuring a titanium body and a matching titanium coated Summilux 35mm lens as well as new digitally projected frame lines in the viewfinder.

Fujifilm announces X100 APS-C compact camera with fixed 23mm f2.0 prime lens

In another pre-Photokina announcement, Fujifilm has released details of a new compact camera featuring a fixed 23mm f2.0 lens on a compact camera containing a 12MP CMOS sensor.  The camera also shoots 720p video and sports a beautiful looking classic design with mechanical selection for shutter speed, ISO and aperture.  Looks like a great little camera for pros wanting something more than a typical point and shoot camera.
